Hillcrest United Presbyterian Church is a joyful family of Christ-centered believers motivated by the power and work of the Holy Spirit. Our Purpose Statement is as follows:
To become a beacon for Christ that helps people praise the Lord, embrace in fellowship, grow in Jesus, serve with their gifts, and witness everywhere.
At Hillcrest, we believe that going to church doesn't have to be boring! Rather, we believe it can be dynamic, exciting - even fun - while at the same time revering Jesus, teaching about Him, and fulfilling His Great Commission.
With a sense of humility, Hillcrest gathers together in the knowledge that we are all sinners saved by grace. Because of what Jesus has done for us, our chief aim is to live the five biblical purposes while proclaiming Him as the only way to Heaven.

Annoucements: (Point your cursor at the announcements to pause them.)
- Vacation Bible School will take place June 16th through June 20th from 9:30am-12:00pm. Thursday, June 19th, will be Water Day. Friday, June 20th, will be the ending of the program with all of the parents invited.
- Bible Study will begin on Wednesday, July 7th, at 7:00pm. It will run for 7 weeks. The location will be announced at a later date. PLease call the church office to sign up: (412)824-5600.
- Presbyterian Day at the ball park will take place on June 6th. Part of the money collected will to toward Mission. Everyone is invited
- FUN IN THE SUN DAYS 2008 The Christian Education Committee has set the dates for the FUN IN THE SUN DAYS 2008! Mark your calendars for these exciting days. Please sign the sheets on the hallway bulletin board for the days you plan to attend. The SUMMER FUN PACKETS will be available at Beacon Place with all the details of the trips during the week of Vacation Bible School. Check the calendar for more info!
- The Hillcrest Travelers will be going to Branson, Missouri August 11-16, 2008. For an agenda, costs and more information, please contact Judy Weimer or Margie Kilgour.
- The Hillcrest Preschool Children that will be 3 or 4 by Sept. 1st, 2008 are eligible to attend preschool classes this fall. The preschool offers a morning class for 4y/o on Tues, Wed & Thurs from 9:00-11:30a. There is also an afternoon class for 3y/o on Tues and Thurs from 12:30-3:00p. If you know someone that might be interested in the Hillcrest Preschool Program, please have them contact Alice Robertson at christianed@hillcrestupc.org or call the church at 412-824-5600.
- Peace Candles (Lighting the Way to the Lord) - We would like to invite everyone to participate in the lighting of the Peace Candles during the 11:00a service. Sign up now while there are still openings! The schedule is posted on Deacon bulletin board. You can sign up there or see Deacon Kandi Kleber, the Peace Candle Coordinator, to sign up or if you have any questions!
