Come Home to the Hill!

Welcome to Hillcrest United Presbyterian Church, where we welcome honest seekers from all walks of life.

Maybe -

  • You're struggling with a difficult situation right now, and you are at the breaking point.

  • Organized religion has turned you off, and you are in a "prove it to me mode" about whether church, and
religion in general, has any relevance and lasting value to your life right now.

  • You're a believer, and you are new to the community.

  • You're starting a family, and feel like it's time to get "serious" about building a family life.

  • You are "church shopping" - looking for a new church in the greater Pittsburgh area.

Whatever your situation, we want you to know there is hope, there is relevance, and there is a family for you to join
at Hillcrest.

We believe that we are all sinners saved by grace, not by good deeds in this world. Through the redeeming blood of
our Lord Jesus Christ - the only way to Heaven - we are in a transformational process that is molding and sculpting
us for all eternity. How exciting to travel that journey together!

Whether you are a spiritual seeker, trying to make sense of the religion information overload in our world today, or a
committed Christian looking to take your faith to a new level, come home to the hill - Hillcrest United Presbyterian
Church.

We hope to see you at a service very soon.
Christians

When I say... 'I am a Christian'
I'm not shouting 'I'm clean livin'.
I'm whispering 'I was lost,
Now I'm found and forgiven'.

When I say... 'I am a Christian'
I don't speak of this with pride.
I'm confessing that I stumble
and need Christ to be my guide.

When I say... 'I am a Christian'
I'm not trying to be strong.
I'm professing that I'm weak
And need His strength to carry on.

When I say... 'I am a Christian'
I'm not bragging of success.
I'm admitting I have failed
And need God to clean my mess.

When I say... 'I am a Christian'
I'm not claiming to be perfect,
My flaws are far too visible
But, God believes I am worth it.

When I say... 'I am a Christian'
I still feel the sting of pain.
I have my share of heartaches
So I call upon His name.

When I say... 'I am a Christian'
I'm not holier than thou,
I'm just a simple sinner
Who received God's good grace,
somehow!

- By Maya Angelou

Here at Hillcrest
we know no one is perfect
That is actually the point...

If you feel like
a tiny ship being thrown
about by the sea,
Let us be the beacon
of light, that helps to
guide your way

"I will never leave thee,
nor forsake thee"

Hebrews 13:5,6
